I know I’m going to come under a lot of fire here – YES this films a “Rom Com” as they say these days (Romantic Comedy btw) and it’s a bit of a chick flick. However as you can see from the trailer there are some scenes with the main character and the father in law. Film was OK throughout but I admit I shed a tear at the final scene where the father in law confronts the son! Also to the critics of Jennifer Aniston who say she is looking ” rough” – Still  very boneable indeed. I’m glad my wife doesn’t browse this site very much :O)

Good stuff indeed. Worth a watch (or download as my “friend” did the other night to see it – some excellent quality downloads online now – see our about me page for links) Obviously I’ll buy it on DVD straight away. It’s one of those films where you enjoy it but at the end find yourself saying  “That was a nice film wasn’t it !Glad I f*cking downloaded though hey!”

Savior (1998)

I was recommended this one and was glad I watched it recently. A good film, simple story and not the best special effects in the world but well worth a watch.  The Story : Joshua is a former U.S. military official who fled to the Foreign Legion when his wife Maria was killed by Muslim fundamentalists in Paris, and now he’s a mercenary, fighting in the Yugoslav war on the Serbian side against Muslims. I’m not sure I fully understand the Bosnia conflict but the film had me in tears at the end and with the baby scene after the shootings.

If you haven’t seen it, go check it out. My favourite scene is where after the death of his family (a bomb by muslim extremists) he walks in to the nearest mosque and just blows everyone away! I’m not saying it’s the solution to the worlds problems or it was a fair justice but it certainly stuck in my mind.

Memorable film quotes

Sorry about your family.

It’s war.

This film had me in tears. I’m a big fan of Nicholson and Freeman and seeing them in the same film was just magical.  Basic story is two terminally ill men escape from a cancer ward and head off on a road trip with a wish list of to-dos before they die. The movie has you sharing their laughter and smiling throughout, only to be grabbed by the heart-strings at the end. Brilliant film for anyone who wants a ManCry.  (Ending below)

Memorable film quote : “We live, we die, and the wheels on the bus go round and round”

Motivation For The Day – 40 Inspirational Speeches In 2 Min

December 21, 2009 at 1:17 pm | Posted in Fun | 1 Comment

Here’s some motivation for your day! This made me smile and obviously others agree with me as it has over 1.89 million hits! I laughed at a certain part only to find someone had written in the comments exactly what I felt:

“They’ll never take… Our Independence Day!!! (Willy jumps the sea wall) That was the best laugh I had all day, kudos.”

Defiantly worth a watch just for that moment alone! Enjoy the day!
